Hey there, I’m Kellie Delka—a proud North Texas native and Olympian representing the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in the heart-pounding sport of skeleton. If you’re not familiar with skeleton, let me paint a picture: imagine sprinting full speed, throwing yourself face-first onto a tiny sled, and racing down an icy track at 80+ mph. Yeah, it’s as wild as it sounds—and I absolutely love it.

My journey to becoming an Olympian wasn’t the most traditional one. Growing up, I was a track athlete and cheerleader at the University of North Texas, and while I thrived in those sports, I always craved something more intense, something that pushed me to my absolute limits. Skeleton became that “something.” It’s not just a sport—it’s my passion, my purpose, and my way of showing what’s possible when you go all in on a dream.

Representing Puerto Rico on the world stage fills me with so much pride. I live here, train here, and carry the vibrant spirit of the island with me every time I step onto the track. Competing in the Olympics was a dream come true, and now, I’m chasing an even bigger one: qualifying for my second Olympics and bringing home the first medal for Puerto Rico from the Winter Games. It’s a journey filled with challenges, sacrifices, and triumphs, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When I’m not racing or training, I’m probably at the beach (because, let’s be honest, there’s nothing like the ocean to recharge your soul), exploring the island, or dreaming up my next adventure. I also love to travel—it’s such a great way to connect with people and experience life from a new perspective.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that being a self-funded athlete means every step of this journey is powered by me—and the incredible support from people like you.
